October is Adopt a Shelter Dog Month. ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) sponsors this event to promote the adoption of dogs from local shelters.
Ideally, the best way to celebrate would be to adopt a shelter dog, however, if you are unable to do so, spread the word. Post it on Twitter, Facebook, and any other social media you can think of using #AdoptAShelterDogMonth.

There are so many available dogs as Pasco County Animal Services that deserve a loving home, stop by and meet your new family member! Just remember, any new pet that you bring home needs time to settle down and get used to their surroundings! Per the Humane Society of the United States, “the key to helping your new dog make a successful adjustment to your home is being prepared and being patient. It can take anywhere from two days to two months for you and your pet to adjust to each other.” So take it easy, allow for your new pet to adjust and give them the time they need to become part of your family! Please share the message and give a shelter dog a chance!
